Third Avenue United Church, Saskatoon Howard Cable is Canada's best known composer and arranger for wind ensembles with numerous sterling musical achievements to his name. His compositions are known and played by concert bands throughout the country. For over 20 years he arranged music for the Canadian Brass; he served as the Music Director for the Banff Centre of the Arts Summer Musical Theatre Training program. In 1987 he was music director of the Halifax Summer Pops Orchestra. The following year he became principal pops conductor of Orchestra London Canada and the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and, in 1990, of the Hamilton Philharmonic. He has worked in musical theatre and other musical endeavours with Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Bob Hope, Victor Borge, Danny Kaye, and Jim Carrey The attached bio provides more detail on Mr. Cable's many accomplishments.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Band Members: The Saskatoon Brass Band and Saskatoon Concert Band present, as the inaugural concert in the Canadiana Series, 'An Evening with Howard Cable'. Mr. Cable returns to Saskatoon after a 25 year absence to present his works in a forum featuring a Saskatoon community and high school bands.
